The Day After

Assalamualaikum

Alhamdulillah, the Hari Raya Open House organised by Masjid Bukit Jelutong in collaboration with BJRA was held as scheduled on Saturday, 25th October 2008.

Hundred of residents, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, came to partake of food and drink and participate in games and activities in the vicinity of our masjid.

It was truly heartening to see everyone present, adults and children, openly enjoying themselves, so I would like to place on record my gratitude to the following people for making this first-time event such a success:
* AJK Masjid, led by Haji Zainul, for their guidance and encouragement.
* Pegawai Masjid (Nayan, Azwa and Azwan) for setting up the infrastructure and cleaning up the grounds.
* BJRA, led by Encik Zulkifli, for contributing food, arranging for the tents as well as the printing and distribution of the publicity leaflets.
* Cik Gu Rahman, who organised the rest of the food and tents. Food was also contributed by Hajah Shafrida, Encik Arif and Haji Abdullah.
* Dr Saadiah, who with her friends put together such an interesting mix of games and activities.
* Puan Ninuk, (correction ... together with Pn Asiah) for organising the bazaar and organising the reception committee of ladies.
* Encik Azhar, for doing the cooking and managing the flow of food on the day.
* Encik Mahadi, for setting up the PA system and organising the entertainment on the day.
* Encik Razak, for getting the disposable crockery and cutlery.
* Haji Hasuat, for getting the banners done at very short notice.
* Col Elias and Puan Ellyna, for photographing the event.

The spirit of muafakat was evident throughout both the planning and implementation stages of the event and during the event itself.

I salute you all for your contribution - may Allah swt bless you for your efforts.

All that was good on the day was by the grace and with the blessing of Allah, all that was unsatisfactory on the day I take responsibility for.

Wassalam. Fhamy
