Not bad ... around 10 kids showed up in the room and 2 "baby sitter"s with lots of goodies. No crying no kids got hurt and no fighting. OK tuuu for the first attempt.
wow .. nice to see the pictures up so soon .. Adani was telling me later how she enjoyed the story-telling especially teh baby part .. and although both of Adani & Ariz were apprehensive at first, alhamdulillah, they took on to the idea pretty fast.
well done sis Hasnah & Sis Saadiah.
this makes me proud to be a BJrian.
p/s aisey, tonight we're gonna have to give terawih a miss for an office function. bugger!
Alhamdulillah. Thanks Azrina for the kind words. Both Saadiah & I were quite apprehensive as well. Mula2 tak tahu macamana nak start. The kids were quite fast in warming up so that made things easier. Time actually flew by :) Now..to start thinking, apa pulak nak buat malam ni..
Alhamdullilah, the babysitting project had a good jumpstart. a. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We need more volunteers so sisters can take turns taking care of the kids. Any takers?
B. DONATION OF MATERIALS We hope parents/ qariah who have books/materials and even toys can donate/share with the babysitting club. So far the volunteers are the ones who brought materials for the kids.
My ABC days are over and I left the baby sitting work to Ninuk, Azrina & Ifa starting last night. But.. how I missed the kids. Sampai sms Ninuk tanya..okay ke?? Terpandang-pandang their innocent, inquisitive faces - Aqib, Zahir, Fikri (with his fascination for paper planes and full of smart questions - at 4 years old, mind you), Uqbah, Hana, Osama, Asma', Wail, Farhan, Ardani (with her big round eyes absorbing her surroundings), Aris etc etc. And the big boys (as in 7-8 year olds) who were "happier" skipping Teraweh and be in the class instead, listening to Saadiah's Prophet and Tauladan stories. (Sigh..)..getting over this..will take a while..I think..Or perhaps I'll drop by soon after solat Teraweh tonite and do my witir at home..instaed..that's a good possibility.. :)
Apparently apart from the baby story they like the Abu Nawas story as well, sampai ketawa --this was the bigger kids though (above 7..Faisal, Azhar), who escaped trawikh after Isyak....inc my son and Hasnah's Ilman.
Nampaknye boleh sambung read aloud/activiites after raya, what do you think sisters?
Oh BTW, Hasnah's mask making was cool, may be boleh sambung ke mask painting (instead of face painting?) for the raya celebration. Sb ada orang tak berapa comfortable ngan face painting, but I check w few people they feel it is ok for kids and I check with one ustaz also who said if it is not permanent (like tatoo), then it is ok.
As i told some sisters, my son waited for one hour in line to get his face painted at "Expo Islam" in London recently. He was really thrilled. Meeting for this masjid hari raya celebration tonite, wednesday 24 sept 9.30 pm. I mention to En Fahmi the project director, sisters would take up the kids activities.
